David Payne

David graduated from the University of Birmingham, with a BSc in Biochemistry and an MSc in Toxicology, in 2004.
He holds NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, NEBOSH certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management, has completed the Chilworth Course in Practical DSEAR assessment and is a graduate member of IOSH.

After graduating university he went to work in the hazardous waste and transport sectors before deciding to move into consultancy. This gave him practical experience as an industrial services operative, industrial chemist, dangerous goods safety advisor and health and safety manager. He has always worked across multiple sites servicing a variety of industries, including manufacturing, chemical production, pharmaceutical and healthcare, scientific research, transport and distribution. 

He gravitates towards managing higher risk activities and during his time at Southalls has come to specialise in Fire Safety and DSEAR assessment.

Outside of work he enjoys running, weight lifting and travelling. He is also a musician and plays guitar/bass in up to 4 bands at any one time if the work diary allows.
