Before starting her career as an Environmental Health Officer, Emma has held varying practical roles in Food and Health and Safety specialisms working in Catering Management and Events as well as Rail and transport, legal Services and the NHS. Emma has pulled these skills together to gain her MSc in Environmental Health and in undertaking a NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
Having working experience in multiple industries, Emma is able to apply practical solutions when inspecting premises and develops training techniques to suit the needs of the individuals from varying sectors of industry. Spending the past 10 years working in Local Authority and the NHS, Emma has held Enforcement roles in Food, Health and Safety and licensing in rural Newcastle under Lyme Borough Council and more recently as an Environmental Health Officer at Birmingham City Council.
Emma joined Southalls in early 2015 and is now able to draw from a breadth of work experience and knowledge of being on ‘both sides’ of industry in giving her clients practical solutions in achieving high standards whilst ensuring compliance.
On a personal note, Emma got all her hobbies out of the way as a kid being sent to various dancing and music classes. Realising early it was more dying swan then Swan Lake she won’t be the next curly haired person to make it famous out of Stoke on Trent! These days she enjoys putting her training in a kitchen to good use and not going to dancing and music classes!
