Ian graduated from the University of Salford, with a BSc in Environmental Health, in 2001. He also holds post-graduate diplomas in Acoustics and Noise Control, Occupational Safety and Health Management. He is a graduate member of IOSH.
Since graduating he has worked for Rugby Borough Council and Birmingham City Council. Ian has enforced health and safety in a wide range of businesses, including retail, catering, warehouses, builder merchants and care homes. He also spent time as a safety adviser for Birmingham City Council. During this time Ian looked after their adult social services and corporate departments. Latterly he was involved in managing health and safety partnerships with two flagship high-street stores.
Ian is a problem solver. As an ex-enforcement officer he is able to hone in on the issues that pose the most risk to your safety, and use his experience to suggest practical ways to reduce them.
Outside of work Ian is kept busy by his twin sons. He dreams of a time when he can return to his hobbies of walking and cycling.
