Ian has been with Southalls since 2009 and has used his background as an ex enforcement officer to offer his clients practical bespoke solutions to ensure they operate safely. He uses his extensive knowledge of Southalls client base in his role as Operations Director to help the other consultants offer a consistent approach.
Ian has a varied background and realised that after his ambition of being a famous sportsman was never going to be realised he should enter the 'real' world. Initially Ian worked in academia and is now able to use his skills attained in presenting to offer engaging and interesting courses to ensure Southalls clients remember what they learnt on one of our training sessions.
The 'real world' meant that Ian quickly gained extensive experience in auditing high risk premises and built up extensive specialist knowledge on machinery guarding. Starting his working career in academia has meant that Ian is the butt of many a joke due to the extensive letters behind his name which he clearly wanted to extend by holding membership to both the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
As Ian has now realised he won't ever play for Bayern Munich he continues to be committed to ensure he provides his clients with the high level of service they expect and be the sounding board for the rest of the team.
