If Kate had not become a health and safety and food safety professional she would have probably starred on the Great British Bake off and may have even won!
After completing her MSc in Environmental Health at the University of Birmingham, Kate moved to Hertfordshire and completed her training to become an Environmental Health Practitioner in early 2009. Prior to joining Southalls, Kate worked in urban and rural local authorities in the West Midlands and Hertfordshire gaining significant experience in Health and Safety and Food Safety. She has considerable experience of enforcement and prosecution and brings these skills to Southalls, being able to advise clients appropriately. Kate holds membership of both the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
Kate has also been involved in a number of Primary Authority Partnerships advising multinational companies on health and safety and food safety compliance. This invaluable experience whetted Kate’s appetite for working proactively with businesses and organisations in the private sector.
Kate enjoys sharing her knowledge and has guest lectured on the University of Wolverhampton’s BSc in Environmental Health.
So back to the baking. According to her husband it is the sole reason his diet has gone to pot!
